STUDY SHOWS DRIVING IMPAIRS USE OF CELL PHONES

San Enfermo, California – A new study released today shows that driving a car while using a cell phone definitely impairs an individual’s ability to use the phone correctly.

Says one of the study’s authors, Professor Irwin Flugelmayer of the University of California at San Enfermo, “We have long suspected that people who drive while phoning weren’t phoning very well. This study finally gives us proof of it.”

Some examples of inaccurate phone use among those driving cars in the study included punching in as many as five wrong numbers before the right one was obtained, ordering the wrong toppings on take-out pizzas and calling a parent or employer “dude” by accident.

I find that driving impairs my ability to play that little motorcycle game on my phone.

It's not MY driving that intereferes with my cell phone use, it's those other idiots on the road that cause the problems. Such as steering straight even though they can clearly see I'm drifting slowly into their lane, driving the speed limit when they should easily see my racing up their backside - and don't even get me started on those pedestrians! The screaming those people do when I drive over them really throws my dialing right off...

While this is valuable information, one can wish the researchers had extended their study to the effect of driving on the use of such personal hygeine devices as blow dryers, electric razors and even curling irons. Driving is probably responsible for more bad hair days than any other single factor. Or were the so-called scientists bought off by the ubiquitous personal hygeine device manufacturers lobby?

I may have to cite this research in the final results of my study on how driving also interferes with drinking. (Mainly because they don't design cup-holders the right size for shot glasses.)

Talking on your cell phone while driving increases your chances of having an accedint by 4x, which is about the same as drinking and driving... so if your gonna talk on your phone while driving, you might as well be drunk.
